JAS (Jazz Aspen Snowmass): A must-watch festival of Aspen
It is a not-for-profit organization, which has been established back in 1991 to protect and preserve jazz music and other related forms by conducting events, and running awareness programs and performances. This multi-day event attracts a variety of people belonging to different cultures and ethnicity to join. The very first 1991 festival was organized in the month of June and was inspired form another reputed and well-known festival in a village of southwest France. Since then it has grown and evolved in terms of the type of performances held, reach to the audience, and the schedules of the whole festival. The major attraction is the Labor day experience, which is a dance-oriented program at Snowmass Town Park. JAS Café is a recent addition that started as a series of monthly winter concerts back in 2010. JAS has also launched its own music education programme making a mark in the field of preserving the music.
